PRIVACY POLICY
WE COLLECT
NOTHING.
That is not a slogan, it is the architecture. REK. has no account system, no analytics and no network code. There is no server to send anything to, because there is no server.

What we collect
Nothing. No account, no email address, no name, no analytics, no advertising identifiers, no device fingerprint, no location, no crash reports of our own, and no recordings.
REK. does not ask who you are because it never needs to know. There is no sign-up step, no optional account, and no “help us improve” toggle buried in settings. The app has no code that transmits data, so there is no configuration in which it starts collecting something.
Because we hold nothing about you, there is nothing for you to request, correct, export or have deleted — and nothing that could be exposed if we were breached.
Your recordings
Takes live on the phone, in Files.app, where you can see them. The files themselves are the source of truth rather than a database entry, and they are named for when they happened. They are never uploaded, never copied elsewhere, and never inspected.
Because they are ordinary files in ordinary storage, two things follow that are worth knowing:
- Anything that backs up your phone — iCloud Backup, an encrypted backup to a Mac — may include them, according to your own iOS settings rather than anything REK. does.
- Deleting the app removes its container, and the takes inside it go with it. Export anything you want to keep before you delete REK.
Sharing a take through the iOS share sheet hands that file to whichever app or service you pick. Where it goes from there is that recipient’s business, governed by their privacy policy and not this one.
The network and permissions
Network
REK. makes no network requests. There is no telemetry, no remote configuration, no advertising SDK and no third-party analytics library. Nothing in the app phones home, so the app works identically in aeroplane mode.
Microphone
iOS asks for microphone access the first time you record, because recording is what the app does. Audio captured through that permission is written to a file on your phone and goes nowhere else. Decline the permission and REK. simply cannot record.
Connected audio devices
When you attach a class-compliant USB-C interface, iOS presents it to REK. as an input. REK. reads audio from it. It does not read anything else about it, and it does not keep a record of what you have plugged in.
What Apple sees
This is the honest part of any App Store privacy policy. REK. collects nothing, but the App Store is not nothing, and pretending otherwise would be misleading.
- Your purchase is processed by Apple. We never see your payment details, your Apple Account, your name or your address. We receive aggregate sales and download figures — how many copies sold in which territory — which cannot identify you.
- Crash and usage data may be shared with us by Apple in aggregate form, but only if you have turned on Share With App Developers in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements. That is an Apple setting you control, and it is off unless you enabled it. We do not operate our own crash reporter.
- Refunds and receipts are handled entirely by Apple.
Apple’s handling of that data is covered by Apple’s privacy policy, not by this one.
The rest of it
This website
The site you are reading is static files served from Cloudflare. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. Cloudflare processes requests to deliver the page and may log them for security and abuse prevention, as any host does. Web fonts are requested from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google to fetch them.
Children
REK. is not directed at children, and since it collects no data from anyone, it collects none from children either.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version appears on this page with a new date at the top. There is no mailing list to notify, because there is no mailing list. Material changes will be noted in the app’s release notes.
